at Blue Door Barns

For this Autumn and Winter, we will be offering wonderful private dining experiences here at Blue Door Barns.

Bookable for guests staying at Blue Door Barns or for local friends and businesses looking for a bespoke dining experience in our beautiful home. Available for groups of 8-16 people, our private dining experiences will take place in the Drawing Room of the main country house Cobbe Place, which was one owned by Quentin Bell and still has a real sense of Bloomsbury history. Whatever your reason to celebrate – special birthday, micro wedding, Xmas, friends reunion, office party – let us make it truly special.

Blue Door Barns Menus

Choose from two types of menus including The Dinner Party and The Supper Party although if there’s something in particular you’d really love, then we can accommodate most needs. We can also ensure all dietary requirements are met.

All served in our elegant drawing room with a beautifully laid, candle lit table, and in the colder months, a roaring log fire

Dinner Party Menu

Prices start from £55.00 per head (includes still/sparkling water, tea/coffee)

Sample Starter Choices

Burrata served with a lemon zest and basil dressing with vine ripened tomatoes, fresh basil, toasted pine nuts and homemade focaccia
Pan fried Gambas and chorizo with chilli and garlic, served with crusty bread
Trio of pates including chicken liver, potted crab and wild mushroom, served with pickles and toast
Whole baked garlic and rosemary spiked Camembert, served with jammy roasted tomatoes and French bread

Sample Main Course Choices

Organic rib of beef served with Dauphinoise potatoes, celeriac puree, roasted carrots, seasonal greens and a red wine reduction
24 hour slow cooked Moroccan lamb tagine served with roasted chickpea and herbed cous cous, and an Arabic cucumber and tomato salad
Slow cooked Korean-style pork belly Bo Ssam, served with romaine lettuce wraps, homemade kimchi, sesame and spring onion salad and rice
Sea bass fillet with sizzling ginger, chilli and garlic, served with Thai-spiced rice pilaf and greens with a soy dressing
Zatar spiced roast chicken with Middle Eastern-style pilaf and a Fattoush salad, served with homemade mint and yoghurt dressing

Vegetarian Main Course Choices (which pair well with the above for vegetarian guests)

Spinach and wild mushroom wellington
Root Vegetable Moroccan Tagine
Miso roasted aubergines with spring onion and sesame rice

Pudding Choices

Mixed berry pavlova
Chocolate and hazelnut torte
Espresso martini tiramisu
Sussex cheeseboard with relishes, fruits and cracker selection

Supper Party Menu

Prices start from £45.00 per head (includes still/sparkling water, tea/coffee)

Sample Starter Choices

Selection of homemade dips including baba ganoush, tzatski, beetroot hummus, served with warm flat breads
French onion soup served with gruyere cheese on toast
Italian charcuterie and anti pasti boards served with homemade focaccia

Sample Main Course Choices

Classic roast chicken with crispy roast potatoes, roasted carrots, season greens and a tarragon infused gravy
Ulitimate chilli con carne, served with rice, sour cream, nachos and homemade guacamole
Slow cooked shin of beef ragu and pappardelle, served with a rocket and parmesan salad
Chargrilled chicken skewers, griddled halloumi, Greek salad and Pourgouri

Vegetarian Main Course Choices (which pair well with the above for vegetarian guests)

Roasted carrot and cashew nut loaf
Vegetable and mixed bean chilli
Mixed mushroom, garlic and rosemary rags
Greek Spinach and feta Filo pastry pie

Pudding Choices

Cinnamon and apple crumble served with cream
Squidgy pecan and dark chocolate brownies served with vanilla ice cream
Fresh berry Eton mess

Drinks

We can also provide a drinks package to include an aperitif/cocktail on arrival followed by a choice of wines for an additional £30.00 per head.

Or if you BYO there will a corkage charge of £5.00 per person.
